Yeah.

the cel V30 sounds like a cock jammed into a brick wall

the WGS V30 sounds good, but not as good as their BR-80

I disagree, especially since V30's record better than most other speakers. How do Bogner cabs sound loaded with V30's?

I think he's talking about the British Lead speaker similar to the Classic Lead.

I've never tried any wgs speakers, but I have some Veteran 30s coming in. I actually bought them to install in a cab I'm selling, but I'm pretty curious about them.

The majority of reviews that I have read have said that the Warehouse Vet 30's are very similar to the Celestion V30's with reduced ear fatiguing mids. Some of the people saying that have earned my trust on tone opinions so I believe it.

I have the Warehouse CL80's but have not A/B'd them to the real deal but others that have prefer the Warehouse versions as well. FWIW.

I have 2 wgs BL-80s and had a CL-80 and thought they had similar tones but they were in different cabs and I think I liked the BL-80 a little better,Sorry for the OT!!!

I have WGS Veteran 30s and BL-80s in different cabs. I don't have experience with their Celestion counterparts but all I have to say is that, once they were broken in, both sets of speakers sound great. The way I see it is the WGS V30s have a great reputation and they're cheaper than Celestion V30s, so why not check them out? The same goes for the BL/CL-80s.

Weren't there a few guys here who had reliability issues with WGS? As in speakers blowing, falling apart, not working, etc...?

I don't know, but I did alot of searching on Google and TGP over the past 2 days and never saw anything like that. I actually only saw ONE person saying they flat out didn't like them and wouldn't buy any others from WGS. Everyone else either absolutely loved them or at least thought they were great.

Chris

Somebody here on rigtalk said they fell apart.

I love them, personally

Yea - I read at least two on r-t mention problems, but I haven't heard/read any problems anywhere else.

Both are Crap...

WGS sounded a little less crappier though. JMO

"Crap" is a subjective term. There are thousands of guitarists out there who love the V30 speaker.

I bought 4 V30s (new ones)and 1 was bad.Only time it's ever happened to me,so it does happen.

Awesome thanks for the responses, yeah what I was concerned about was I remembered reading about it in the past where the speaker fell apart, but I guess if other people haven't had problems I'll give em a shot.

The WGS Veteran 30s are smoother than the Celestions- not as brash in the upper mids. My bandmate runs them with his Mesa stuff- 3 channel Dual, Studio Pre, Triaxis/2:90- and loves 'em. There's a definite difference.

I haven't tried the Veterans with my Stiletto, but I switched from Celestion V30s to WGS Green Berets and am much happier with my tones, both clean and dirty.

Neither of us have had any reliability issues with them, either.

I just found one thread viewtopic.php?f=3&t=33158&hilit=warehouse

EDIT - it looks like Capulin Overdrive and Troublehead both had problems.

Oh yeah, I see that now. I dunno... When 98 people love them and haven't had any problems and 2 have had problems, I'm gonna have to assume those 2 got defective items.

Now if I get mine today and something goes wrong, when my opinion will change. lol
I agree - I just bought some the other day so I'm not trying to say anyone who buys these is a moron.  However I'm curious if/hoping there'll be the same 98% positive feelings a year from now.

Meh, if you want the very best "V30" get a Hellatone 60L IMO
