my marshall cab is loaded with Retro 30s on top and G12T75s on bottom. the Retros have a ton of mids, and a nice chunk of highs, although they are pretty smooth which is actually really nice. i like brighter tones, and the Retros give me all i want and more. i havent noticed any diminished attack or edge with them. the only other WGS speakers i have tried are my 75s in my Laney cab, and they are very similar to T75s. a little more midrange to my ear, similar in the top end although they are smoother. no diminished attack from them either in my experience, just less mids compared to the Retro 30s. still, awesome speakers IMO. especially for the price. which reminds me, i need to get another pair of Retros to go in that Laney cab...i seriously love them paired with my Single Recto.

I will have to see if I get sick of my Celestion Lynchbacks. If so, I will be getting more WGS, but right now, the Lynchbacks kick ass. :)

The new combo killed last night. I had to really open up the amp to contend w/the rest of my band, and the WGS drivers kept up like a mofo. Once pushed, they didn't lose the creaminess in their sound, and still retained a great clarity. Also, on a side note... Mike Lickliter, dude, you did a bang up job on that amp, man. Nothing but compliments on the amp from my band members, without me even asking. My bass player came over to me after word and told me it sounded sick. He was standing in front of the amp for like an hour while we were playing, totally digging on it.

Thanks! Here is the amp. I am a fan of the WGS and I install them in all of my builds.

Just got my Whitebox 2x12 with WGS ET65S and WOW!!! They cut through the mix like nobody's business and maintain their own unique character. With a Splawn Quick Rod these speakers burn!!!

Haven't tried any other combination yet but just based on this I'm sold on both WGS and Whitebox cabs. The ET65-loaded Whitebox with the Quick Rod in first gear sounds like the Quick Rod in third gear through other cabs.

WIN!!
