Hey everybody, Long time since my last blog mass mail. A LOT of things has happened since my last mail to you guys. First of all I signed up with Seymour Duncan pickups. By now I've tried LOADS of awesome pickups from Bareknuckle, Dimarzio, Lundgren and they all make kickass pickups, BUT it all comes down to the Duncan Distortion, it's just an amazing pickup for me. A lot of pickups are voiced in different ways to make your guitars/amps sound different but the duncan distortion is probably the most neutral sounding pickup ever. They just let the amp and guitar work their magic. Loving it. So that's why I got the endorsement, the pickups are just so me and the guys working at SD are badass. The international sales rep is a total death metal fan and went into the pit the first time in his life at the Six Feet Under show at the Whisky LA. Love that! It's been on the radar for a while but we finally locked up my signature amplifier through Randall Amplifiers called the SATAN. I initially bought a modded Natas from Mike Fortin back in 2011 that I wanted to be called the Satan. He designed me a different amp with a lot of switches, modes and cool knobs. It was actually already at winter Namm 2012 but under the name Fortin Satan. While it already sounded badass by then, getting the Randall deal going we got to the point that I needed to work with Mike Fortin in the same room to be able to finalize the design of the amp. So I went to Toronto for a couple of days late May and boy did we create the most brutally awesome amplifier ever?!?! I learned so much about transformers, chokes, tubes just being there for a couple of days. It's definitely something different than anything else you have ever heard. I'm so happy with the outcome of the amp and playing it on this US tour is a total bliss. It totally cuts through the mix and I get crazy amounts of guys coming up telling me how awesome the amp sounds front of house. So basically Randall will be releasing this amp to the public in 2013. It's going to be an affordable amp. Mike Fortin is overseeing the full production so I'm confident the end production line will sound identical. Reassuring enough it's in my contract that I HAVE to approve the first production amp before it ships out. We're all going for a major ride with this amplifier. Just can't wait to get home so I can make a full play through of the amp showing all different gain possibilities. Going from a total Meshuggah glass chug to a stoner fuzzy distortion is two knobs away. Also for the Six Feet Under tour I can dial it in more saturated and fat to fit the more old school death metal we play. Can't wait for you guys to play one. The biggest thing that has happened to me is the fact that I joined the death metal band Six Feet Under. This of course is a big deal for me since I'm an old school death metal fan. I was in the middle of a nice steak dinner in Frankfurt Germany March when some american dude called me and started talking about some band, he said his name was Chris Barnes. Took me a second but when I finally realized it was was THE legend of death metal talking to me, I was shaking like a leaf. Apparently he had seen a couple of my videos and liked my riffs and chops. It took me a phone call to my wife and 5 seconds to accept the gig and here I am writing from the tour bus going through Texas. I have the most awesome time in my life. So funny how things work out. 1 year ago I started getting recognized with my videos sitting in my bedroom, now I'm tour with one of the most best selling death metal bands out there. Dreams do come true. A little insight on the rest of the year, I'm coming home in July to have a month off together with my wife and son that I miss dearly. Then I'm off to play a two week european tour. Playing Wacken , Brutal Assault and Summer Breeze! KICKASS!!! Then I have another tour in October and some dates in US december. In the midst of this I'm going to fix more videos, write for Feared and eventually also write for Six Feet Under. It's going to be a hectic year but I'm ready for the ride. A lot of shit to melt and probably only 10% have read through this shit, but I just want to say the reason for all of this happening, IS because of your support. I'm really thankful for every mail I'm getting and I still try to answer them all, but it's getting harder and harder. Which gets to me cause I'd really like to help everyone with their questions. Until next time as I always write I'm trying to make this mailing list a little bit more frequent, and it's a lot easier when on tour cause I have a lot more down time on busses and in transits.
