What Wah Would Work?

I need a wah pedal for a project, and it's going with or on a small pedalboard of mini pedals. I'm not sure about whether I want to put the wah on the board, or on the ground next to the board. Since the board is small, and they are all going to be mini pedals, I thought about getting a mini wah. Now, I've never been a fan of wah, so I'm not used to using one. Should I get the mini wah, or go full size? Are there any good mini wahs? What is the difference between, say, the Dunlop mini wahs and their big counterparts? Anyone wahnna weigh in?

Hands down the Xotic Wah is the greatest wah other than my original bad horsies that I use. But they do use a big footprint

I personally am not picky about a wah. I love them and they are super fun, but they all make screechy bonk bonk noises in the end, so just pick one that's the size you want with a good bypass IMHO.

I think the mini Dunlop is true bypass so should be fine.

Xotic wah has too many options and nine seem right to me. Cry baby mini is a no brainer. Cry baby junior is between the daddy and mini and had toggle switch on outside to go between 3 modes. If on an angled board the mini is fantastic, easy to find sweet spots. If flat, regular size or junior/half size. The Cry baby just gets it done right. Total utility wah, the sound you have heard for decades. You aren't playing it all the time right? No need for options.

From the Dunlop camp, I love the SC-95 Slash wah and the Bonamassa wah.

But hands down, the JAM Wahcko rules.

I picked up an old Thomas Organ wah and it’s been the best wah I’ve had (that I can remember lol).

The past 15 years I've only been using Dragon, Bad Horsie and Maverick switchless wah pedals, so I'm getting some good info here as I've been overdue to explore other options.

I might give the mini Dunlop a go. I need to get used to a way either way, so starting with the mini might work. I spotted a used one on CL, so if I don't like it, I'll flip it. No harm, no foul.

I can’t do the mini-pedals, I’m a size 13 and they just feel so awkward under my feet, I never land on them right.

The Dunlop Petrucci wah gets my vote for the ultimate wah, it’s literally the rack wah in a pedal form. Pull off the back cover and you’ve got all the adjustments you could ever want!
