I know there's loads on youtube ripped from GH games, but I'm talking ones that would be harder to get hold of. My vote goes for the first Blue Murder album - Syke's tone is massive but always think it could be more up front in the mix tbh so I'd love to hear the guitar on its own. Second would have to be Wicked Sensation I reckon!

What about you guys?

Mike

Skid Row - Slave to the Grind
Ozzy - No Rest for the Wicked
Ozzy - No More Tears

Some of my favorite tones in the mix and I'd love to hear what they sound like without the rest of the band.

+1 on the Skid Row  That was my #2

Metallica, ...And Justice for All.

not that it's an album for the ages or anything (Master of Puppets is). but the mix was so awful, with drums and guitar up and bass utterly gone, that i would love to hear what the bass was actually up to under there.

While it's not isolated there are remixed versions with the bass turned up. Here's the whole album with more bass...

I would be much obliged if you would post them when you get a chance.

Yeah, the first two Skid Row albums would definitely be killer!

Ratt- Dancing Undercover. Warren had some cool stuff going on

BOOM. The rhythm guitars are godly on that album, and I would LOVE to hear them raw, especially She's Evil, For a Million Years, and Street Fightin' Man.

Whitesnake - S/T

Everyone knows the guitars were low in the mix...especially the solos, cuz Coverdale and Sykes split.

Yes, Whitesnake 87 and Blue Murder S/T. I would also like to hear TNT's Knights Of The New Thunder, Loudness Thunder In The East and Lightning Strikes, Dokken BFTA, ULAK, and T&N, and some Vito Bratta stuff!!!

Great topic! I REALLY would love to hear the isolated guitar tracks from these albums:

Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Tool - Aenema

None.

I just want to hear albums the way they were intended to be heard.

My favorite albums are magical to me. I prefer not to dissect them.

The rest of Led Zep II. half the album iso tracks leaked last year. You can hear an alternate live guitar solo of heartbreaker on the drum track!

The isolated guitar tracks are usually very disappointing tone wise. The magic is in the mix......the great studio engineers should get royalties from amp sales & have their posters on bedroom walls
