wondering what are some guitars you've played with good stock pickups other than the obvious (fender, gibson, anderson and any other high end brand whose pickups alone are noteworthy)

1 up on the 57 classics. But then again I've yet to own many a well done guitar brands.

Gibson P-90's are my favorite P-90, and the Gibson 498 and 500 are my favorite stock humbuckers.

PRS McCarty pickups. Vintage vibe, hot PAF type, hot enough for modern metal and also sound great split.

Have to agree with the 57 classic comments above....Got my first Les Paul recently(have always been a superstrat, charvel, ibanez guy) and I was totally happy with the tone of the 57s....very cool to not have to immediately change the pickups in a new guitar for a change(Charvel was awesome pickupwise too).

PRS HFS are pretty cool for super high gain.

Lots of love here for the 57 Classics! I'll add that I see to HATE these pickups and tore them (carefully of course) out of all my 68RIs up until the last RI I bought.

I plugged it into my all the day I got it, and it was one of those days when you're incapable of playing a bad note. I figures it was an anomaly, and figured I would try my guitar with a different amp...and to my surprise...same thing...great depth and I loved the grit those pickups have!

So, now I'm debating pulling all the EMGs I installed out of the guitars and throwing in the stock pickups with upgraded electronics.

So, surprisingly I'm loving the 57 Classic / 57 Classic Plus setup. They're missing the immediacy and the cut of the EMGs, but the depth these PUPs have is amazing!

the pickups on the EBMM axis guitars!(custom wound for EVH dimarzio's)
I bought a few sets of those for my other guitars i liked them so much

Peavey Wolfgang ftw

What were in those? I don't change mine either when I had one. Also had an ibanez rg550 back in the day I didn't just hate the pups. Some kind of ibz pups.?

Bill Lawrence XL500's are nice for high gain. Dimarzio Super Distortion is nice for rock and metal. I recently became a fan of the Seymour Duncan P Rails. The P90 and Single coil setting is nice but the humbucker setting is one of my all time favorites. Great sustain.
