I was thinking about getting one but no one seems to think the same thing about them. Some say they are gods own winding and some say they are muddy as hell. I ended up just getting an x2n7 as I got put off by the very different reviews the blaze had.

so far, the only Dimarzio I like is the Fred.

They have a lot of fucking mids....I mean , a lot..and plenty in the low end...can easily get muddy depending on the guitar.

Isn't the Breed supposed to be super harmonic? I bet that's where the muddy comes from, lots of gain with a busy pickup. I might be off on that though.
I also thought the Breed was similar to the Evolution, which is a pickup I really like.
I do like Dimarzio pickups thought, Evo, SuperDistorsion, PAF Pro, HFH, etc...

i have a BREED pickup,in one of my guitars,and it's AWESOME! ...but the secret is to buy a BREED "neck" model!!! it has a bit less bass & mids than the BREED "bridge" model(which,imo,is extremely bottom-end heavy,just too much)... check out Dimarzio's "tone chart" and compare!!!

It was my least favorite of all the Dimarzios I tried. Just way too soft w/out any attack for my liking.
