What do people like for guitar pots now?

I've got several guitars that need some electronics refreshing, so probably swapping pots, switches, shielding them, etc. I have a pile of Alpha's around that I could toss in them, but wouldn't mind pickup something up more specific to the application and hopefully more robust.....even if some of these will probably never leave home again!

I did cursory search out there, and then realized I haven't swapped guitar electronics in 25 years, so thought I'd ask before buying stuff.

I put in some, I think CTS pots from Stew Mac. I only bought from them because they advertise theirs have to meet a certain percentage of stated resistance, so they're a higher quality unit. I put one in a guitar I had to fix up and it works great and has a very smooth action. I'm very pleased with it and will continue to use them in the future.

There are other companies that advertise CTS pots that have to be within a certain range as well. Find one that fits your needs that's advertised thusly and pick it up. I think Mojotone may have some made for them the same way too.

Mojotone vintage taper CTS pots.
They consistently measure close to the rated value and seem to last pretty well.
I keep a stash of short and long 250k and 500k and change out all the electronics in any guitar I buy unless its a vintage piece.

I use those as well.
Great pots.

Have changed plenty of pots, just had a bad one in my LP.
Figured Id bang it out quick, and found my LP has the plate they are all mounted to and then installed into the guitar.
Not as quick and easy as I had thought!
Got it all back together and wished I had just done them all with the Mojo's.

Is that plate for grounding issues?

When I used pots, the seymour duncan 500(if you have humbuckets) low friction are the best I found.

I have used evh low friction, but they don't last as long and have the non splined stem

I have a stash of vintage pots, but for new stuff i like CTS. Have used Alpha too but don't prefer them.
