I ordered a bunch of tubes that are coming in Monday to retube 3 of my rack preamps. I want to clean the pots and jacks while I'm in there (a few scratchy ones or low output). I usually use Deoxit Gold but I'm out. I'm considering either regular Deoxit or another can of Gold to clean the jacks and pots, then a can of Deoxit Fader Lube to lubricate the pots after I'm done cleaning everything. Anyone else have/know of better methods or products I should try?

You never want to use lube. Tuner lube stays in the pot and allows dust to stick to it. Over time the pot will probably fail from getting gunked up. Only use a good contact cleaner with no or very little residue. CRQ or a similar no residue cleaner will be fine. LPS is my favorite but pricey. I use the plastic safe. Turn the pot quickly back and forth after spraying. Blow it out with canned air as well.

This is what we use at work...for high voltage secondary contacts and it is excellent.

Deoxit kicks ass. That stuff never lets me down. Every time I don't think that stuff is going to fix my issue, I spray and the problem is gone.
