I'm digging on the orange ones, the older ones with just the EMG retroactive pickups or whatever they're called, not the sustainer model. How do they feel? How do they play? What Floyd is on it? Gimme your .02 please.

I like the look of their guitars and apparently they are well finished and play well BUT I think they've missed the mark with the floyd rose " special designed especially for Schecter". That's a bit of a rip, they should have priced them 200$ more and just gone with a 1000 series floyd. As such, the kramers are a better value ( the 84). Same with the endless variations of charvels that come out. I mean, you are playing in Charvel territory. You need to be up to the task.

After I posted this and doing more research I did find where one site said Floyd Special Hot Rod....the other sites were just saying Floyd Hot Rod and omitting the Special part. I agree, for the price it should have the 1000, I guess the extra cost went into the electronics and not the hardware. It's a bit of a shame cuz I dig that orange color.

There's a WMI Korean built (vs newest Indonesian) orange one on Reverb for $100 less. Drop in a Gotoh 1996 with the savings. Problem solved.

If you dig the guitar, you can always replace with an OFR or Gotoh. Keep the original bridge and if you ever sell the guitar you you can put the original bridge back on so you don’t lose your “investment” in the upgraded bridge.

The SVSS Exotics have all the upgrades you could possibly want.

Floyd 1500 w/SS screws, SS frets, luminlays, USA Custom Shop pickups, Wenge neck, and just total bad assery.. I love mine. Totally worth the extra, (I got a brand NIB for $1061). These are made in South Korea, and it shows...

I've got the ziricote version and - other than hindsight wishing it was the hardtail version - it's a solid guitar, plays, feels and sounds really good.

Yeah, I've seen used ones less than $600. I'd look for a Korean version and upgrade the Floyd Special if I was on a budget. I, (personally), think the FR Specials are garbage. SS screws or not..

I have same one a s napalmdeath
very impressed
still in honeymoon stage but surprised how well it stays in tune after a proper setup
wenge neck feels great kinda like a solid rosewood neck and the profile is very comfortable

I have wanted a wenge neck forever. I don't know how they feel, or how they sound, but the richness of the wood just has me wanting one so bad to try it out. I'm drifting away from liking deep rich brown colors on wood on guitars (which is why I mostly only buy maple/maple neck guitars these days) but that wenge brings me back everytime. Also, I love a nice piece of black limba.

GC has a nice orange one for $450 used which is the one I was looking at...I just don't know if I want a guitar with a USED Special on it. The Kramer Pacer Classic I got is new with it so I know it hasn't been divebombed a million times, or the action adjusted with the strings at full tension. I have no guarantee the bridge isn't worn the hell out on that used one and I don't feel like investing in an OFR to put on it.

I have a black one with sustainiac, Korean made, paid 450 Euros, 2nd hand but in a new condition. Very happy with that guitar. It feels heavier and bulkier than Charvel SoCal. It is true that the prices now went up in a crazy way. I wouldn't pay the currently asked 1100 Euros for it. I would buy Charvel.

I have no issues with FR special used, guitar keeps tuning without problems. Don't care about SS screws. But unlike the standard FR arm with thread attachment, the arm is held by friction, it has an adjustable rotation tension on the arm with an Allen screw, perfect.

I bought the SVSS 7-string version off Reverb.. Waited all weekend for tracking and the seller reneged..
But, the other 2 Schecters I have are great. I'd buy another..

Have tried them. They're feel ok but look and sound goofy.

Their baked maple necks are nice too, if you're a Strat guy. The Nick Johnston Strat is surprisingly nice. I'd like to get another HSS and gut it's electronics for some much higher end wiring and pickups. That guitar felt great, pickups were meh, at best. Definitely an excellent donor for mods.
