I have five that need new floyds. I have an ESP with a Schaller lockmeister and had a guitar in the past that did too.

Anything wrong with putting lockmeisters in all of them?

They are a little cheaper than the OFR's, and I think that I prefer Schaller. Thoughts?

Any place you can get them cheaper in bulk?

The Lockmeister is the same as the OFR, just a little cheaper because I guess Floyd doesn´t make any money off of it and it´s sold directly under the Schaller name. The typical Schaller licensed Floyd you saw on a lot of stuff back in the 90s is a another thing.

Why don't you just go with a legit Japanese made floyd....Gotoh!
The best Floyd that I have ever tried and can be found for under $150 used

X2. A great Floyd!

@2prog Can you get me a link?

The thing is that I know I like the lockmeisters.

What is the difference?

Gotoh 1996 is superior in all aspects and will be a closer match for larger radius and compound radius necks. Also can be found new for $100. The only caveat, is that the stud bushings are larger than OFR, so you may need to use OFR studs and bushings, but no problem on the fit

Cool. I appreciate it.

Will I need to redrill the posts?

My custom made guitar has a Gotoh Floyd on it and it has horrendous tuning stability. Also that link mentions that you need to buy the locking nut separately.

I'd go with Schaller.

Considering the overall track record of the Gotoh this doesn't sound right at all. I guess it could be a bum unit, no product is perfect 100% of the time, but tuning instability can have a lot of different causes.
