Sellers describes it as a "1996 Gibson Les Paul". Is it a Standard with a swapped, blank truss rod cover or something else?

Thanks. I may ask him for serial#. If you are correct though, how much is it worth?

Hard to say without seeing condition in person. What pickups are in it? I'd say anywhere from $2k-$3k depending on actual condition. I'm guessing he's asking around $3k?

If it’s a ‘96, there is no 50’s and 60’s models back then. Just one standard to rule them all. One neck shape. Kluson’s were OEM back then. It’s probably what was a Honeyburst standard plus or premium plus judging by the figuring. Those did go for a little more than a regular standard.
There’s nothing particularly magical about a ‘96 unless you find when you play it in person it plays and sounds great.
The only other thing it could be is a Classic, which it isn’t because it doesn’t have the green tinted inlays. Factory pickguard on Classics back then had “1960” on them and a truss rod cover that said Classic.
If original pickups, they would be a 498T and a 490R.

I'm not sure how long they were doing that bright case interior material but my 2008 Standard had the same type of case.

Like others have said, need the serial, is the serial stamped or inked ? All makes a difference. Probably a Standard Premium Plus from what I see here,,, Nice top !
