Yeah I agree except I have not seen this before!!! Just thought it was comical!!

That dude's definately a wack job. Were does he find time to work on amps or do tattoos?

IT'S THIS WACKY DUDE,,,,,,,HE LIKES TO SPAM EVERY FORUM ON THE NET!!!!.........

HE tends to TYPE IN ALL CAPS with LOTS OF SPELING MISSTAKES....

HE IS A CRAZY MOFO WITH OVER THE,,,,,,TOP PUNCTUATION.

That is all.

Go to his website and check out his ghetto fabulous tattoos, I think its flamerdragon dot com or something like that.

How about the obvious... that amp doesn't even sound that good. Could benefit from a boost to tighten some of that buzz up.

While his posts come off as rants, I agree with a LOT that he says. If you think some amp modders out there don't want to keep you in the dark then you're fooling yourself.

I've seen what it takes to do various mod's, and you're right, in some cases, it ain't all that much....however....I have ZERO interest in doing it myself, or trying to figure out all the pitfalls that these dudes are already aware of......in some cases due to THOUSANDS of hours of experience. I'll happily pay the cost to avoid the VERY steep (for me) learning curve

No brainer, in my case.

dude, i posted a question about this very item last night, and basically got ripped into about how i was going to die working on my amps cause i wasn't an engineer...or, well, it could be taken that way.

still have yet to have my first question of the post answered.

Hell, when I was kid Trainwreck revamped the master volume in my JCM 800 and charged me like $50. I understand that it was a long time ago but shit, I understand some guys charge like $500-$700 for one now.

Yup, I haven't heard of anyone ever getting killed working on an amp, I guess it's happened at some point though. I've done minor mods on some amps and it really isn't that hard when your told what to do like, cut this wire, attached this resistor, etc. Just let the amp sit overnight so the caps drain.

A minor mod is a different story than a big overhaul though and I would pay for someone to do something that's involved. Take FOrtin for example, his Cali mod had a lot going on and I glady paid for his work, and his work was top notch and he was great to deal with. I'm really happy for him with his Randall deal.

absolutely, im with you there bro. i drain my caps, and check them with a meter. am i a seasoned pro? no. can i solder with care, and replace some components? yes, i've proven that. i think there's some degree of truth to what the BB guy posted (yeah, i went and read the whole fuckin post cause i had time for the bitchdrama!!!)....i dont think he's the most articulate, tactful person....it seems though, he's calling it like he sees it. whether you agree or not for whatever reasons (politics, personal relationships, etc etc etc), the guy makes some valid points. i think his mod videos sound ok, and he's onto something. i dont think it was wise to call out the Jim from scumback, or JD in the way he did, but, to each his own. i wont lose any sleep over it.

if i PM him and get his mod info, and it gets me close to the sound im looking for...i'll be happy having been able to do it myself. if not, then oh well....

Yeah well BillyBlades talked about "making it right" a lot, and how he is against all the big name amp modders who just recycle Jose's work, then he got a bunch of guys on another forum to share the info and wrote long posts how we're all just hobby amp builders and we're just doing it for the fun and that the other guys (Friedman, Cameron....) are scammers. Well long story short, now he's offering these mods himself for a few hundred bucks a piece, still saying he's way more honest than the other "rip-offs". When he was asked about this he gave a long speech about how his agenda has changed, that he's only human after all and that since a lot of people were (supposedly) begging him to do it, he had no other choice. What a hypocritical loudmouth...
