What is your favorite interface to record with load box?

I have an important question...

I upgraded from my scarlet 6i6 interface to an universal audio apollo twin duo. I was expecting the tone to be much better when recording, but I almost think it's harsher and not as good. Is this even possible? lol. Went back and forth numerous times.

Would love to hear people's honest opinions on their preferred interface for the best possible tone when recording with two notes or other load boxes. Curious if anyone also has experience with the apollo twin and found the same results?

That's really strange, wouldn't expect this behaviour..maybe there are some wrong settings?
For what it's worth, I upgraged from a 6i6 to a Fireface UCX and I'm very happy, the interface is much quieter and is overall more stable and has great drivers. Can't really say how much the tone changed, as I changed my loadbox at that time as well (went from Rockcrusher to Reload).

The apollo should be great as well, e.g. Ola Eglund uses one as well and uses the instrument inputs on it and then reamps, so it's strange that you are experiencing a worse tone. Doesn't sound normal, I would triple check any settings.

Thanks for the response slash57. No, I've gone back and forth and made sure the settings matched. It's not like there's a technical problem. I just don't find the tone as good. It's just been my natural findings...would love to hear from other people and their experience as well.

I had a UA Apollo Twin duo and I thought it sounded very good. That being said, I moved to the new Focusrite Clarett 8 Pre and I think it sounds even better through my setup. The UA should be a great sounding unit.
