wonder what that thing sounds like? will a llb rip?

Sure, but you have better/cheaper options for that - such as the Mark III. For the same price, you can find an original IIC+ SR or an upgrade with some more options. The IIB is an awesome amp, and the Coliseum is cool, but you gotta know what you want to do with it.

The IIBs don't have nearly as much gain as the Mark III or the Mark IIC, by comparison, but they are considered a high gain amp.

Post up pics when you get it. I would be interested to see what transformers came stock on these early Coliseums.

Will do. Been wanting to get my hands on any of the Coliseums for awhile now without a crazy price tag. Maybe if it doesn't have enough gain I can send it to Mesa for some upgrades?

But from what I've read they came with bass 300 transformers? Does that sound familiar?

I'm pretty sure Brad Gillis used a pair of IIB's on the Live album Speak Of The Devil.

Bingo

I read that as well. I also read he had a flanger splitting the signal to each amp.

Speak Of The Devil has one of my all time favorite guitar tones!!!

I do know he used a Son of Boogie with a pedal... I believe he used it live as well.

There's a video out there of Gillis using them live. Can't seem to find it though..
