What Pieces of Gear have you called in sick to pick up from FEDEX or UPS or from a local store? I'd love to know that i'm not alone in my "crazy" :lol: :LOL:
 
all of them ;)

i rearranged an entire day of out of town meetings once so i could go retrieve a guitar from the UPS warehouse...
 
I HAVE called in sick so many times to play guitar or to go pickup a guitar from FEDEX or UPS or from a store where I had a guitar on Layaway. I Remember calling in sick from a music store parking lot pay phone in Ft. Lauderdale back in 2001 so that I could pickup my 2001 Black Les Paul Standard which the store promptly put my pickup choice in for me while I waited cause there was no one in the store on that Friday at 10:00am. I spent the rest of that weekend killing ear drums through my then Marshall 2550 Jubilee.
 
I chased the UPS man around town (while i was at work) when my Billy Corgan VH4 came in. :lol: :LOL:

I did exactly that last week when my Fractal Axe FX II XL+ was being delivered. Was worth using a sick day for it too!
 
I was at a meeting today an took an extended lunch to pick up my new FC-6 footswitch for my Axe III. Now I can gig with it!
Stupid UPS depot is brand new so they only have pickup times from 10:30am-12:30pm. 2 hours. Ridiculous...lol!

Super excited about this as I have been waiting for the better part of a year to get one.

I think I took the day off when my BE-50 was delivered and a guitar that I have wanted for a long time. NGD is always a great one!

I use a sick day. :lol: :LOL:
But it’s been slowing down compared to the old days. :D
 
I've had my share of 'sick days'. One day, I even made a sign because I was jamming and man caving :lol: :LOL:

For me it is in reverse. I have all my stuff shipped to my job. I have had to drive in to work on off days to get gear that was delivered ha. Great thread though. I ship from work too and enjoy killer shipping discounts. Give and take.

I ship from work also...advantage of the corporate shipping discount :thumbsup:

I used to get stuff delivered directly to the office, the UPS/FedEx route guys, I know them, and they run regularly so i knew what time of day they'd be on site...etc. All was well until my boss went dick mode one day...commented about how much money he must be paying me with all the music gear i buy.... the delivery that day was a 699$ MIM guitar....and he was busting balls about "how much" i was making... :thumbsdown: fak him... thus, my reason for the sick days :D
