What speaker for a CAA 1x12

Just scored the cab and its not in my possession yet, but trying to get a heads up on what speaker to run in it. I'm one of the ones that loves V30's but generally mixed with other speakers and this one has a WGS VET 30 in it at the moment. The WGS speakers I've heard in the past don't have that bite that the celestions do so I'm assuming I will probably replace it. Thought about a Vintage 30 but though its ported not sure how bass response will be. I will be running 100watt heads through it, carefully of course. I will be using my DSL and Friedman Marshall JMP

If I was going to run a 100 watt head thru a 1x12 I'd probably look towards a cl80 or some other higher watt rated speaker just to be on the safe side of things. I had a buddy who use to run a 1x12 at rehearsal and for gigs with a 100 watter and he chose ev's over all the others, and he always had a great tone.

I have two CAA 212's with Vet 30s and they sound great. I've had a Marshall JCM800, Friedman BE, Mark V and CAA OD100 SE+ through them and they were fantastic. You may want to wait and see how it performs. Just a thought!

Good advice guys. Yeah I'm definitely gonna give the vet30 a chance first.
I thought about an EV but I've never heard one and where I live, prob wouldn't. Will report back once cab arrives.

Just fired up this little bugger, and WOW!!! Using my 100watt Friedman Marshall I through a little volume to it and was very pleased at bass response and how it held together. When I get more time I'm going to determine if I really want to keep the Vet30. It does sound good but I'm really thinking a scumback BM75 100watter would really hit all the sweet spots. Will report back when I've had more time!
