Okay,

I just ordered an unloaded Emperor 412.

I have an x-pattern of K85's and T75's here.

Should I just try that first?

Or start grabbing other stuff? Greenbacks? Swamp Thangs? CL80's?

BTW, I'm only using 16 ohm speakers, so I can't use EVM12L's or anything that only comes in 8 ohms.

What are you planning to play through it

NO K100s unless you want this mono sounding WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA sound

How about looking for some vintage greenies

Scott,

I like the vintage greeny idea.

BTW, K85's are supposed to be JUST like K100's, and I think they sound great. so, go figure.

Oh, and

ambient, experimental, post rock, shoe gaze, etc.

Loud, Mid gain. lots of fx.

swamp thangs / black powders in an X pattern. totally fuckin boss

whatever you choose let me know how that cab sounds
because I love the way they look,I want one but I hate
buying stuff without tryin it out.
I'd like to get one with 2 EV's and 2 greenbacks.

Dude, You're in luck.

I already have two Emp cabs. They absolutely rule. I will never buy a different cab brand, unless I'm getting a "too good to be true" deal.

Emperor cabs:

Solid
punchy
warm
like a buttered sledgehammer.
reasonably priced too!

What I have:

4x12 loaded with Eminence Fryette P50E's

2x12 loaded with EV Ceramic SRO12's

They're both magical, and they're pretty much all I play with the big boy rack.

What do you guys think of WGS Green Berets?

BTW, I'm a WGS believer, so no need to sell me on the company.

I liked those better than any Greenbacks that I have tried. Yeah, I said that. :gethim:

I'm hurting for a quad of these. Great speakers. I'm in the processs of convincing myself to order a custom Voltage cab loaded with them.

Also, I had an Emperor 6x12 for those interested. It was quite possibly the most awesome cabinet that I have ever owned. I only sold it because it's arrival happened to coincide with the demise of my musical projects at the time and I just didn't want it sitting here.

It was the saddest classifieds day ever when you sold that thing.

Yeah, it was a sad day, but you should be happy about where it went to. It ended up going to this bass player in Ohio who now plays it along side his Electric 6x12 with a Mesa 400 plus pushing the whole mess.

No shit? Guess that answers my question.I'll call them.
I wanna build a new rig around the new Mako
preamp,something different.
Thanks for the go ahead.I love new cabs.

My Engl has greenbacks and i love it. that and V30's are my favs. can't go wrong with vintage 30's

You could do something a little different and try 2 H30's and two Alnico Golds. That would sound real purdy for low to mid gain.
