What strings do you use and why?

I have been using Ernie Ball 10-46 slinky’s for the last 15 years, what are the best quality strings out there? I have no idea… I just always used these and still do, but I hear that there are D Addario strings that are better.
I am experiencing the Ernie Ball strings to feel like loose rubber bands after a week or so… I don’t even know if this makes sense but hopefully someone else will understand,
I tune to std E…

Any pack of 11's that aren't rusty. I have no preference at all.

I've been back to DR Hi Beams and Nickel Lo Riders on my 8 string after a near decade of Elixirs but I'm going to give Stringjoy a shot next time I buy strings. Their gauges and and construction seem to check well from all the info I can find. I'll be easier and cheaper than dealing with the semi-hodge podge way I have to go about buying strings now.

guitar strings......why? ... because I don't want my guitars to sound like a bass

Back in the 80s, my friends and I all used Ernie Ball. It was like "is there another string company that exists?" LOL.

A few years ago I started using D'Addario but to be honest it was just because of the color coded string thing and made it easier for me not to get distracted. :) I have only used those two string brands, other than whatever comes on Les Pauls and Strats from the factory.

I recently realised that putting a 0.10 - 46 gauge is harder for setup and you end up a larger neck bow... a 0.9 - 42 or 0.9 - 46 be a better and ease off the tension on neck thus resulting less neck bow... no idea how many guys here would agree with me here...

That is what truss rods are for my dude.

GHS Boomers primarily, but Fender Super Bullets for any EVH tone chase.

DR tight fit 11's

Because I like these the best. I keep trying others, but always comeback to these

It actually depends on the guitar.
On LP I put pure nickel strings (Gibson 10s) and on Strat DR Tite Fit 10s.
I try to put the same strings because I'm too lazy changing the intonation per string change :P

The NYXL's are awesome I have found but they are $12 a pack!

Dean Markley Blue Steel 11-52 with the 0.18 Unwound "G" String. I Tune to D Standard.

Elixr's , because they sound good and they last . I used d'addario for decades and they got to where they just didn't last . I was changing strings once a week .

Love DR but lately I've been getting packs with corrosion on them so I've been using slinky's skinny top heavy bottom.

Long time EBMM user... recently switched to D'Addario XLs. Sound warmer, less plinky sounding.
