What year for original Jubilee cab with G12 vintage speakers

Does anyone know if there was ever a specific year when the original Marshall Silver Jubilee cabinets had the Celestion Marshall branded G12 Vintage speakers? (The original vintage 30’s). Every Jubilee cab I see for sale from that era always has the G12T75 speakers. I know they made the cabinets with both speaker types but wondering if there are specific years when they used the G12 vintage as they seem like unicorns.

I can’t answer your question, but I had to pipe in and say these speakers sound REALLY good in a few clips I’ve heard. Nothing like a current V30 for sure. Hopefully someone here knows some info

Search Silver Jubilee BV cab . The BV is what tells you a cab contains theses speakers . I have a BV cab and these speakers are huge sounding .

1987. That was the first year Marshall put the new 8 ohm vintages in Jubilee cabs. So they would be the less common 2551AV/BV vs the 2551A/B. The 8 ohm vintages were used in the Studio 15 combos and the Artist 3203 combos in 85/86. But not in 412s until 1987. Then, in 1988/89 you could find them in random JCM 800 cabs with a 280w sticker on the back. The Vintage emblem on the front bottom of the cabs didn't start until the 900 series.
I have a 1988 JCM 800 cab with the 280w sticker and 8 ohm vintages inside.

This is why I ask you the Marshall questions

Racer nailed it… and they really are fantastic sounding speakers. The 8 ohm version is super killer and hard to find, and sound much different than anything else . The 16 ohm model is great too as well of course. They are getting harder and harder to find. I bought @Braciola ’s awhile back, and absolutely Loved it. But I was buying it for a friend unfortunately. Amazing cabs.

As was mentioned look for the V at the end of the cab model number. I have the 2256AV, though mine came with only 1 working Marshall vintage, the other the magnet had shifted and was toast. What was actually in the cab were wgs green berets. I since was able to get a pair of Marshall vintage speakers and sold the green berets and the one good working Marshall vintage from the cab.

I've got one of the reissue jubilee cabs and they also come with Marshall branded V30's. Not sure if they're the same as 87 but they do sound different than my other chinese V30's.

The earlier ones sound very different. More like a 65 combined with a V30. The newer ones are much brighter.

Thanks everyone, I found a Jubilee cab from 1986 local to me but it turns out it has the G12T75 speakers after the seller got me a photo

I'm the 2nd owner of an original '87 2550 Jubilee w/ a matching 4x12, wired for 8 ohms from the factory. The SN is 601 if it helps. The head was given to the original owner at the NAMM show by Jim Marshall himself (he signed the back of the head). The cabinet was custom made for 8 ohms and shipped to him from the UK a few months later. It has the G12 Vintage 8 Ohm speakers in it. Sounds VERY different from a modern V30. The most killer cabinet I own.
