Recommend a killer 1x12 for recording... ready set go....

I'm curious too. I have a Jet City 1x12 which sounds ok in the room, but has an odd resonance when recording. Would an open back be better for recording?

I have had good results using my Earcandy boa 112. It is about 1/4 the size of a 412, and 1/2 of the back can be removed. Seems to work great for recording. It is the only front loaded cab that I really like.

The bogner cube is pretty pricey though. I have played through a pair Of Mesa theils and thought they sounded killer

Voodoo Amps Iso-cab.

An USO cab would be nice to. Or I coul just build my own ala Pete thorn style. Bigger area. It's nice to have some room ya know

It's something relatively new Trace is offering. I don't remember pricing details, but I saw it on Voodoo Amps facebook page. I couldn't find it on their main site yet though. Call them up and they'll give you the skinny.

Edit - here's some more details from the Voodoo Amps FB page:

Trace:
‎$995 unloaded or $1095 with speaker :) We are taking and shipping orders now. 607-256-0465
We tried all the other Isco-Cabs on the market as we were looking for one for our studio but we were not finding one that sounded great or was a reasonable size - so we created one! :)

A little on the pricey side, but seems extremely well-built.

Yeah to rich for me at this point. I wonder how the newer evh 1x12 will sound. Specially paired with the 5153 amp I have

I totally agree; it looks well constructed, but that price is way too high imo. And honestly, I just can't see this sounding that good based on the design. A 20" cube lined with foam and a 12" speaker on a baffle at 45° seems like it would be plagued with the same problems most isocabs are; maybe even worse because it's smaller than most. For that money I'd grab a Rivera Silent Sister, which actually costs less and seems to be a far superior design. Who knows, maybe it's killer :dunno: . I just wouldn't take a chance w/that price & what I see design wise.
