Got a guy offering one for my 1987x reissue. I'd have to have $$$ on tip but there are several revisions on these Quickrods that I don't know what is what on them. Anyone have .02 they want to contribute?

So I have an '08 version so I'm thinking these would be pretty close. So it will have a 4th preamp tube vs the OG versions which had 3. One being a Phase Inverter of course. The extra preamp tube added in '06 time frame was actually to give the clean channel a dedicated tube if I remember correctly - which then frees up one triode for an extra gain stage. I can't remember the year that Scott started putting in the 'master' loop volume control but I believe that would have been after 2011, probably closer to 2015 he did that. Then, after that, he started offering the B+, mid cut, and old/new switches. You can ask seller if it comes with the 3 button footswitch. Also, what speaker cabinet(s) would you be using? Because most agree that Splawn mids do not mix as well with Vintage 30 mids but some like them just fine. I would also ask what transformers it has - although that would be more curiosity vs quality/tone.

Hope that helps and good luck.

I had a 2009 Quck Rod and it had loop master volume

2009 model with Heyboers here. Sounds great but sorry don't know much about the revisions. I wouldn't sweat it, if it sounds good it is good.

Oh wow. OK. Maybe it was an option pre-production? Cool and thanks for correcting
Not sure if it was an option , I bought it used in 2015 . I gave Scott the serial number and he said it was an 09 . I got my SS in 2012 and I`m guessing by then it was standard

I don't know that you trading your Marshall + cash is a fair deal. I'd want cash + his Splawn. But the 1987x used is worth at least what the QR is. Probably more. Just my 2 cents.

@Racerxrated is 100% right—I wouldn’t do that without getting at least $800. Early Splawns have a (deserved IMO) rep as stiff amps, def niche market as opposed to the 1987x which sells for at or close to $2k. They sound fantastic in the right hands, but they are not the easiest to get used to. $1000-$1200
