What's the best high gain amp you've played?

FJA modded Single Rec......that thing killed anything I put it up against, and it went up against some expensive stuff.
 
Personally it would have to be FJA Modded Dual Recto. Kills in the high gain ground.
 
Either my Gemini or MKIIC

Depends on mood and guitar.

Can't wait to get the Snakebyte in and see how the Het Set likes those amps.
 
Through the 3 million amps I've been through, my Mesa Roadster stood top of the heap over them all until I recently acquired a Peters Gryphon. I don't think James gets the recognition he deserves.

For me? For truly "high gain" (which eliminates my Wizard), I'd have to go with the SLO. I mean, come on! Right?... :confused:

Believe it or not, I don't consider the 20thA a "high gain head" as it does so much more than just that... Hence its obvious exclusion from my list. The high gainers are obvious here - c'mon, Twinjet?? Hagen?? Ya man, even the VH4 is "all about Channel 3"...those are the mackdaddys of high gain head (in my opinion). The 20thA?? Dude, it can lay down _anything_ with ease and style and GOBS of tone and sonic bliss :yes:

Just clarifying... The 20thA is a lifer :thumbsup:
 
My modified 5150 II. Like a worn in baseball glove.

edit: I'd really like to get my hands on an OD100SE+ one day when i have the $$$$. Possibly even a marshall reissue i can bastardize :D
