And I do mean actual Marshall? Is there a general consensus on the best sounding Marshall? Sorta like how the Mark IIC+ is to Mesa.?

Early 80s JCM 800 2203. The only Marshall I've ever truly liked. Massive fail a few years ago buying a TSL...

I think a bunch of guys are going to be saying JCM 800. Especially the early ones. There are the non- master volume hold outs though.

My favorite has always been the jubilee but some dudes hate jubes.

The best Marshall is the one that sounds best for you dude.

Some dig the MG line, some dig the 800, JMP, Plexi... I did own a DSL100 a couple of years ago and I loved that amp, it was cutting like a razor in a mix.

Depends what sounds good to you I guess.

This is kind of like asking what the best cereal is, no real answer. My vote is for the Superlead just based on clips though.

Love my Jubilee though....

JMP's and early JCM 800's here as well. And I'm madly in love with my newly acquired JCM 800 187 model.

There isn't a real answer to the question ... But I did play the new Slash head, and thought it sounded excellent. Check it out if you can find it.

i liked the new slash amp, i had one for a little while and thought it was great.

What the hell's a Mark IIC+? Is that like Kool-Aid?

Just get a Diezel and be done with it...

Another vote for the JCM 800. The 100 watt Super Lead is a close 2nd....very close.
