Anybody try the New KK head yet , the youtube with the other cat playing sounded badass ,
Whats the difference between a reg JCM800 and the KK head.
Anybody.

The KK 800 has his spiked MXR EQ built into it and more gain. It also has a built in gate and a couple other extra features as well.

Ckeck out this months Guitar World. It's got a whole article about the KK800. Explains the differences.

The Kerry King one is probably for total poseurs.

OTOH, the regular 800's normally don't distort at all in my experience.

HAHA

The main difference is it has KT88s, so it's going to have WAY more headroom and thicker overall. It has a switch which engages the noise gate and gives you that horrible mid range spike that makes Slayer's sound so unlikeable.

So is the plexi setting, sounds pretty good for $299, but too much gain

The line6 model was actually made from a bogner-modded 800, dunno why they didn't incude a regular 800 model as well.
