A quick browse of the classifieds and I saw 3 AFD100's. Probably missed some too. Just surprised to see a recently released limited edition amp for sale. Does TAG not approve this amp?

I remember seeing a few Axe-Fx2's and mesa mark V's for sale early, but both of those products aren't limited eiditions.

I am curious about the AFD100, but don't see having the funds for a long time.

There's a SCE edition of a limited edition coming out.

Sig amps are dumb. Sig anything for that matter. They should just slap it in another chassis and call it an 800 MKII and sell a million of them.

I am sure some people figured they could make a dollar, and there are more sellers than buyers.

i think people get a wild hair to buy, then it takes months and months to get, and by then you're pissed off and/or spent too much money before you got the amp.

Not neccisarily a Slash fan, but I love Marshalls.

I had one, sold/traded it to try something else and then got a good deal on another. They are great sounding amps, I like mine!

Some think they are too biright and maybe not enough gain for others?

some people bought them to resell and if you do it within the first month or two you can make some cash, some people bought it to try it and are now selling them just like any other new amp that comes out, i had one and i liked it alot but i chose to keep my jubilee instead.

There is...or was a brand new one in the box for sale on the Seattle Craigslist. My guess is that either folks eyes are bigger than their wallets, or like Cap said they're already on to the next thing by the time the amp gets there.

Some people wanna emulate da man, you know, Slash himself. So they subconciously fall into the trap that having a Les Paul and now this amp will give them the edge to be 'that much closer' to playing, sounding and emulating Slash. That's the purpose of a LOT of signature gear. Fact is, as I am certain many of us here have realized time and time again, new gear doesn't make us new players. Great gear doesn't make us great players. Oh, sure sure, it's about 'tone', that's the 'rationale' behind a lot of these siggy gear sales, it's about quality and workmanship and blah blah blah...

No. It's marketing. And when the penny drops and cats realize the amp still makes the mistakes sound just as loud and just as apparent, the magic disappears, and the mojo is gone. Resale.

Peace,
Mo

So true; it's funny because my favorite tones come from amps that will show your playing for what it is. I'll never forget making the transition from a high gain amp and playing on my first NMV Marshall. I thought, "Man, I suck a lot worse than I thought, and now the whole neighborhood can hear it!"

It was a good hype and press move by Marshall. This is a common result with signature gear.

Who is Tag? And why would anyone care about Tag approval?

TAG - Total fucking douchebag who owned a Dumble, posted it everywhere, and is now banned everywhere. Delusional, sad, creepy little man.

While I can neither confirm nor deny any of that, he did give Ralphie and me a KILLER deal on a Mesa MkIII coli head...

From the little time I spent on one last week I can tell you it's a pretty cool Marshall but you kinda have to be a fan of the JCM800 in the first place.

nicely put.

i recently posted in one of ola's vid comment section that a good player can make any piece of gear sound good.
