Analog vs digital?
Whats your favorite delay?
I dont need 1 million options...just a simple and very good sounding delay.

One of my favs:

using a loop?

why not get an old, cheap rack delay like:

Roland SDE-1000
Roland SDE-2500
ADA S-1000

All three of these sound better than any pedal I've ever heard.

Im looking at it right now...whats the diference between analog and digital? Ill use it mostly with high gain setting to play Satriani, petrucci, iron maiden stuff

Id preffer a pedal than a rack unit...im trying to build myself a cool pedal board with an eq,compressor, delay, wha,ts type od...

the aqua puss only has 300 ms of delay.

You DON'T want that for Satch, DT, or Maiden.

trust me.

Analog is typically warmer and more organic sounding. Think David Gilmour. Digital delay is more crisp and the repeats don't degrade as much as they trail off, unless you use a digital delay that emulates an analog delay. I also have the Line 6 DL4 and it's a great, easy to use pedal with a lot of nice delays in one unit, plus a looper for layering parts.

If all of your other pedals are analog, I would suggest using an analog delay if you don't want your signal to go through convertors. Or use a pedal looping device so it takes it out of your signal path when not in use. But that's only if you're really picky.

Get this one, it has everything one needs:

Does a perfekt job in an effects-loop!
The analog and tape delays sound awesome - and it's made in canada :D

Eventide TimeFactor.

I love analog delay, they are awesome for ambience but they get a little too soupy in a mix unless you're playing with relatively clean tones. I've found that digital tends to work better with dirt simply due to the clarity. I like the TimeFactor because it sounds good, doesn't alter my tone, I can save presets, and it doesn't clip when used in my effects loop.

I'm no delay super nerd or anything... but that's been my experience.

I hate to nitpick, but IMO, GIlmour's best tones were all TC 2290 (digital).
