For me, starting at about the 2:30 mark, Hanger 18 just rocks, but especially the lick at 4:35-4:45

probably some lynch .stuff the opening to night by night is awesome ..

Definetly De martini's Way Cool Jr riff..

Gary Moores End of the World..

Scorps tease me please me..

Tnt .10,000 Lovers.

White lion .Lady of the valley

Iron Man...the "erie" part (no, not Lake Erie). Here's my fav version/lesson

My fave lick, and one I've been working on forever to get smoothed out, is the descending run by Randy in the first chorus of Crazy Train.

After that there are a lot I like but that's the one.

Some of those bendy licks Joe Walsh does in Hotel California. Amazing. They get me every time.

Yngwie - Soldier Without Faith (solo section)
The final lick in Far Beyond the Sun

There are so many

That lick after the third chord in Back in Black.

Damn, way too many to many to narrow down to one!!! Im going to have to think about this...

i'd have to agree with this. way too many to narrow down to just one.
but if i had to pick - you just can't argue with this awesome tone lol

Slash's solo in Welcome To The Jungle has many great licks.
AIC Man In The Box solo also has many killa licks.
Led Zep, 10 Years Gone has got a smorgasboard of licks.
ZZ Top Jesus Left Chicago, the turnaround part is choice followed by the weird two note bend to the solo.
The Yardbirds For Your Love has that choicer of a lick.
Hendrix All Along The Watchtower has the most bad assed lick that follows the psychadelic part which comes in with the wah, damn that's the sickiest lick right there

I have tons that I love but my latest favorite lick is from Opeth's live version of "Harvest" from Live at Royal Albert Hall....1:08 to 1:12 on clip below. Nothing crazy but just cool lick. Love Akerfeldt's guitar playing...amazing vibrato:

Brad Whitford?

NOPE!

It's Actually 2 People... A tag team of 2 guys that did studio work for almost everybody in the 70/80's

Steve Hunter! My Idol! He played the whole first half of the leads.

And Dick Wagner Played the End parts with the huge pulls when you hear the over dubbed applause!

Joe Perry Couldn't Lick Their Asses!... I was just a kid when I got Get Your Wings... Just starting to play. But...
I knew in my Heart that there was was no way Perry was playing that... It was nothing like the rest of his work
AND! He just never showed any signs then or since that had the chops to do it!

They also played for Alice Cooper on Billion Dollar Babies... Sounds similiar if you listen... And Bob Ezrin loved using
Them... They played on the KISS Destroyer Album!

For me?? They start with most of the earlier Zeppelin tunes - each and everyone of 'em is a classic... Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog, Out On The Tiles, Immigrant Song... Hell man, that band was just riff laden with the best!! Then?? Rhoads...Rhoads and Ozzy, the opening after the classical intro to "Diary" where he just let's loose. Wicked riff. Aerosmith has some classic licks too, the best known being "Walk This Way", IMHO. Steve Vai's "For the Love of God" is an incredible riff... Slash has GOT to be one of the most riff/lick laden players out there today...always plentiful, always tasty - his little run in "Fall To Pieces" with Velvet, classic. "Miss You" by the Stones, "Satisfaction", "Honky Tonk Woman"...another priceless band laden with original riffs and licks. Red Hot Chili Peppers "Funky Monks", wicked lick. "Rocket Queen" by G'n'R, amazing, as is "Paradise City". Eric Clapton's "Cocaine", simplest out of the bunch yet, but super distinguishable... "Killing In The Name Of", Rage Against the Machine. Ministry's "Bad Blood". AC/DC's "Back In Black", a timeless classic and already mentioned ad nauseum. Lots of Oasis tunes, I know I'll get flack for mentioning these lads, but personally, I think they're amazing song writers...period.

Wow, too many to list for me. Awesome thread... Brought back memories for sure. And thanks to Tim, mammaries too :D
