Was it when the 3 channels came out, or were they still making the 2 channels for awhile? It's been awhile, so I can't remember  What I'm trying to find out is, are even the latest 2 channel rectos that were made considered Rev G's as well? Thanks!

I want to say 2000. My 2-Channel Blackface Triple Recto is a '99. Rev G.

If it is a two channel, it is Rev G or earlier based on all of the research I did before buying mine. Rev G went from the mid 90's all the way until the end of the two-channel line. Some of the very early Rev G's share some leftover components with the earlier revisions (attached cord, small logo, etc), but they are the same board as the later two-channel amps.

Do you think there's any reason to prefer an earlier Rev G (attached power cord) over a later Rev G (detachable IEC cord)? I'm looking for a 2 channel and wondering.

When I was looking into them, I saw someone comment about the attached cord having less hiss/fizz... but I've got zero personal experience to back that up. Could have been a complete pantload.

I have seen some claims about some of the earliest rev G's having the earlier transformers that Lynch built hype about; the "pre-500" thing that turned out to be more of a board revision thing than transformers from what I could find.

There's an early rev G on the classifieds here that I don't think has sold yet, it has the serial effects loop that I thought was specific to the F and earlier revisions, but the seller insisted it was a rev G when I asked about it. I never did get the serial number out of him, though.

Fluff191 could probably answer these questions better than I could... I was pestering him for advice when I was shopping for mine.

Thanks. I want a 2 channel, but I don't want to pay the prices asked for some of the early ones. The dudes that try to sell Rev F and later rectos for $1200-$1500 will probably have them forever. I sold a Blackface Rev G with attached power cord for $950. I thought it was worth more, but had to keep dropping the price. Now I want another! DOH!

2 Channel Rectos ceased in early 2000. Approx. SN 17,000 or so.

As far as attached power cords, I have owned both and there is no noise difference whatsoever. I wished my Recto had a detachable power cord!

Hope that helps.

Yeah... the attached cord bit sounded silly. Hence the pantload comment. ;)

I'm still curious about the effects loop. Everything I've read said that was a big defining factor between rev's G and F, yet that claimed rev G on the classifieds has a serial loop.

There was indeed a very short run in 1995 of some Rectos using leftover chassis' from the early models. Not really much rhyme or reason, but some of them did have serial loops. If it only has a single mix knob, then it's a serial loop.
