Rig Talk.

Got my song on 93.1 "The Bear" back in 2002 or so. Other than that, myspace or youtube.
Edit: (my bad, it was WIKB, not that it matters to anyone who doesn't live in Upper Michigan/Northern Wisconsin)

If you lived in Highlands county FL, in 1987, and listened to the local radio stations, you may have heard my twin guitar harmony in the 30 second jingle for South Florida Community College in Avon Park. The musical director wrote the song, I created the melody and the harmony. I came up with two solo melodies, he liked the first half of one, and the second half of the other. So I learned it that way, and we recorded it. He wanted it to be a two guitar harmony, so I worked out the second part, did one test run with the tracked melody, and then did the keeper in one take. He was surprised that I could nail the harmony in one take, and I told him 'I'm used to playing with myself.' We had a good laugh over that.

Other than that, I played mainly in cover bands in dive bars in that area from 1985-1987. If you were at any of THOSE places, you'd never admit it. After that time frame, bands have been way too sporadic, and most never made it out of the rehearsal/writing stage.

I've heard your tune Therapy, either on satellite (XM) or terrestrial (WJRR Orlando,) possibly even both. It's cool to see some bands on these forums 'getting somewhere,' good job!

Two of my band, NorthStar's songs were on the KLOS Local Music Show in '85. KLOS was the big rock radio station in LA at the time... It was cool hearing our stuff on the radio and hearing our names announced. We were pretty sure at the time we were on the way to rock stardom... alas, it was not to be... :)

You can hear it here, if you want:

Unfortunately, I've fallen through a number of bands and bad habits of members before really getting somewhere. BUT, you can hear some of my solo studio work via myspace. IE: One of my hard rock tunes (blank page with no information due to "rights" with a collaborator who I'd decimate upon the first chance I got)

https://www.myspace.com/fromwithinproject

Me Vox, me Guitar and Me bass.. He did the drums and recording/mix down and we collab'd on lyrics.

Our single "Popstar Wedding" received a lot of national airplay in 2005/2006. At its' peak, there were about 40 some stations playing it in regular rotation in the US. KISW in Seattle was one of the first stations to play us, featuring us on their "9 oclock cock fight" -- we won five nights in a row and were retired from the contest. Then, KCAL in Riverside, Ca played us in regular rotation, eventually putting us at #1. We were getting played more than Godsmack, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, or whoever was on the radio at that time. It was awesome!

Our music was also featured in a University Of North Carolina alumni DVD, as well as some NBC sports specials. Howard Stern used the first 14 seconds of the song as a bumper, leading back into his show from commercials. Then, ESPN radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning used it as their intro music for several months.

We did a string of dates with the reunited Candlebox, and also had a feature in Metal Edge Magazine. We were even supposed to do an episode of Rockline, but it never happened. Played lots of radio festivals that summer, and stayed on the road quite a bit from the winter of 06 thru the summer. We ended our tour with a show with 3 Doors Down, at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, which we had filmed for a DVD (never got produced though).

It was a good time for us. Then it ended, almost as quickly as it began.

The good folks at Metal Express Radio have been playing my band for years. They were kind enough to have us a guest DJ's a last year. We were on the Bruce Dickinson Radio show on the BBC. Wish they still had that show on. We have been on quite a few shows, mostly in Europe.
