The CCV looks like the right alternative but it doesn't seem to be able to cope with low gain as well as the Marsha (Just an opinion)

Nico, why would you say that? Admittedly, the vast majority of guys that buy the CCV are going after its over-the-top gain.

However, it does a nice mid-gain crunch as well - it's just that no one posts clips of these tones!

Hopefully Brad and Mark's new clips (yet to be posted) will address this aspect of the amp.

I could go into detail about why I wasnt diggin but lets just say I am a Diezel VH4 user and its kinda like the benchmark for me in terms of quietness (when your not playing) , tightness on the low end, gain structure. The naked and the marsha are fine amps but im not really buying into the whole 80's sound thing. Like why would I want to recreate the fuckin 80's?
the amps sounded cool but just werent a VH4. Its hard to come off a fuckin masterpiece and play a marshall clone-ish amp and be impressed. In fact its been awhile since I have been impressed with a marshall style amp. I need the amp to sound TIGHT and have huge mid range punch. Im sure with a different CAB, a les paul, and a NOISE SUPPRESSOR the amps would have been more to my liking.
Calling a VH4 a masterpiece is kinda stretching it but to each his own.

Oh is that really stretching it? its more of a masterpiece than some recreation of a fuckin marshall. Its something never done before. Its A NEW thing to its own. Much closer to a masterpiece than hot rodded wannabe EVH amp.

All you're going to do is give yourself heartburn if you get upset everytime you read Diezel criticism. Take your pick of any amp and there's someone not liking it. I've played the Herbert, VH4, owned the Einstein. The only one i even remotely liked was the Herbert and even there i think it's overrated and overpriced. But so what, that shouldn't matter to you at all. There's plenty of amps i hate playing but that won't stop me from listening to someone else who that amp works for.

But i also think the best guitar tones ever created were from the 80's, and back then the main players were Marshall's and Mesa's. I listen to Metallica now with Diezels and think they sound like shit compared to what the used to sound like. But that's all my opinion and probably has to do more with an aging band that lacks creativity.

But regardless of what you and I think, the most popular type of tones on this forum just happen to be hot rodded Marshall tones. I see more guys playing Unchained than Stinkfist or Sober. I don't know, just play what you play and do your own thing.

Well I guess I am a bit biased, because I already made this decision. Looking into the amps mentioned as well as a few others I went with a Marsha. Mainly because I think it has more tones I like in it and for classic hot rodded tones which involve less gain it might work better Both do the high gain tones easily and I heard great clips in that department, the Marsha might be better suited for me since I play those sytles where I need a more Marshall vibe (Led Zep, ZZ Top, etc)...
The Cameron is a great amp and it was a tough choice for me, hey I might even buy one down the road... What I mentioned is that I really haven't heard convincing low organic gain tones out if it. The low gain tones I heard, IMO were kind of the same compressed high gain tone but with less gain if that makes sense... Maybe not the amps fault but the people demoing them...

I will say that in my experience, the VH4 records like a dream and is just phenominal in the studio. The CCV is also off the charts and on the same level. These two compliment each other very well IMHO....both are very versatile.

GET THE CCV!

+1
