It's been awhile since I played an EVH, but which neck is the thinnest between the Ernie Ball and the Peavey?

Thanks

The Ernie Ball is narrower, I'm not sure about thinner. The EVH is definitely thinner than the Peavey though.

I'd have to disagree with the above post. The ernie ball has the "fattest/chunkiest" neck of the two. The peavey has a chunky neck too but it has a flatter back profile where the EBMM has a more rounded back profile. The new Fender EVH has what I would consider a thin neck and feels nothing like the previous versions...

It's just an oil finish, Get a Peavey and sand it to taste.

EBMM has more radius and rounder on the back, but it also feels smaller at the nut....and the frets are a tad bit smaller (than the Peavey models)

Here are some neck dimensions on the Peavey Wolfgang, I was given this info directly from Peavey when researching specs for another guitar. I don't have specs on the EBMM or the Fender/EVH model.

Nut Width - 1.650"
1st fret - .815"
12th fret - .940
Neck radius -15"
Frets - medium

I have a pv wolfgang special waiting on new strings, an axis, dial calipers and too much time on my hands. Always thought the wolfgang had a much chunkier neck but flatter radius. Turns out it does towards the nut. I think the squared edges and slightly higher frets increase this perception. Both comfortable and I dig them both.

peavey- width
nut- 1.630
12- 2.031
22- 2.236
depth
1- 905
12- .940

EBMM- width
nut- 1.630
12- 2.000
22- 2.295
depth
1- .832
12- .940

Note that the EBMM feel and effective width are less than indicated because of the heavy rolled fret and board edges. My Peavey has almost square edges on the board.
Yea I know I'm lame.

I've always had a problem with the high e string slipping off the neck on the Axis when i play them because the string is too close to the edge of the neck for my taste. My Peavey Wolfgangs have the right amount of space so no problem. The Wolfgang necks sure seem wider to me than the Axis.
