Depends on which Jose, ive heard some hi gain Jose's that were on par with aldrich's . . but I have to say that the aldrich I have has so much gain it hurts! Its such a killer amp :D

The Aldrich mod has more gain the High Gain Jose mod, but the Ocean mod has the most gain.

I dont agree. I have an Aldrich and an Ocean and they both have alot of gain to them. The Ocean is just bigger (fatter) sounding.

I owned the Ocean mod, the Aldrich mod, a variation of the Aldrich mod, and the Jose High Gain mod all at the same time. Maybe Mark tweaked my Ocean to have more gain, but the Ocean mod that he made for me had IMO more gain than both Aldrich mods. Let's just put it this way-I had a lot of unusable gain with the Ocean mod whereas I didn't quite have that problem with either Aldrich mods. In any case, the Aldrich and the Ocean and even the Jose High Gain have more gain that anybody would ever use.

Thats funny, because my Ocean and Aldrich both have a lot of gain. I would not say unusable. My HG Jose I had seemed to have a lot of unusable gain to it. I know all these heads differ in tone, so its really hard to say which has the most gain. I would say that the Jose is more 80's based and the Aldrich is meant for a more modern tone. I love the Ocean the best out of all of them.

It all depends on the mods guys. Each mod Mark does is different than the last. All my Jose's, Aldrich's, and the custom variation of the Ocean mod I had all had a shit load of gain. The Aldrich and Jose have about an equal amount of gain, but the aldrich's mids are more aggressive or "in your face" while the Jose's mids are smoother. This is where i find the biggest difference in the mods....the mids.

That's true-the voicing of all these amps is really what separates them the most-not so much the amount of gain. If I recall correctly, Mark said that he tweaked the Ocean mod he did for me but I'm not sure what exactly he did to it.

Whatever the case may be, I think we can all agree that Mark's mods are absolutely killer.

Agreed

My Jose HG has less gain than my SLO100 but sounds massive anyway. I can nail the GnR AFD tone and get into some serious Lynch tones with my JTM45 Cammy.

I think that pretty much all of Mark's mods, including the Aldrich, Jose, and Ocean mods -have an assload of gain.
They are just different types of gain, with different sensitivities.
The Aldrich type mods I have are very Marshall sounding with a clear, distinct mid range bite. The bass mod fattens it up.
The Jose mods I have sound very SLO/hot-rodded Marshall to me. With the gain at high settings, complex chords remain clear and it never gets harsh at any volume. Similar to the lead channel of the CCV.
The Ocean mod I have is different, sounds like a beefy vox with soaring capabilities.

 Thanks for the posts on Cameron's mods . I know I am getting to the dance late guys, but you are very helpful for my learning curve for this. Thanks a ton!

Yup. I am still in awe of the sound. For the hell of it, I slapped a Tube Screamer in front of the Aldrich I have with it set to a lower gain tone and it sounded really mean. Tons and tons of clear tight gain. I need to talk to Mark about getting an effects loop for it.
I'm doing the same with a Keeley modded Blues Driver in my blues/70' hard rock band and it sounds incredible.

Dibs if you sell it man ! That amp is incredible, i miss it !

I just recently got an Aldrich and my buddy just got one of the better sounding Joses and I have to agree with what most have said. My Aldrich is the modern voiced Marshall with rip roaring mids and more gain than you'd ever want. It smacks you right in the face. My buddy's Jose is a smoother tone but still lots of gain and an absolutely killer 80s sound, none better. Very pleasing to the ears but not overly aggresive in its gain. Bottom line for me is that I heard all of the Cameron hype for a long time and I am now a believer. All of the clips I have ever heard of the CCX and CCV in my opinion do not match his modded Marshalls but clips can be deceiving. I'd really need to have them side by side to test, anyone want to send one my way, I promise, I'll give it back. :-)

Ok, as requested here is the Aldrich. If I get my video camera working I'll put a few clips up. I'll have to defer to my buddy for the Jose unless I can find a few pics he sent me recently.

If you take those Groove Tubes out of there, replace them with SED Winged C's and adjust the bias you'll be blown away how much better it sounds. IMO of course.
