I picked up a SIG:X recently and the tubes came broken unfortunately. I read a while ago that Fryette said to use sovteks but they've been discontinued. What's a nice pair of KT88s right now?

Best current production hands down are the Penta Labs KT88C's

I had JJ, gold lion and SED at once in same amp. Able to compare. None were BETTER, just different. SED winged C were my favorite, stuck with the JJ, wasnt worth the cost differences to me and I am a snob/picky.

I've used Gold Lions in my Ultra Lead. Couldn't tell much difference from when the stock tubes were in there.
