Ok, I have a L500 in my N2, but I'm not sure which Bill Lawrence actually manufactured the damn thing. So do I go with the Bill Lawrence USA or the Bill & Beck version to get that Nuno bite?

(And before all the bashing starts, I actually think that this is a great pickup when used for the right application.)

I've got a Bill Lawrence USA L-500XL in my Dean right now. Sounds awesome... In some guitars they just don't sound right though...

Ive got a bill & beckie L500 and its sounds great. Im not sure which one is the "correct" pickup, but I would recommend the B&B version.

I have a feeling its actually the L500L which Nuno used.. not the L500XL. Dime used the L500L too for a long while, and later went to the XL.

I have the XL from Bill and Becky and its a fantastic pickup in the right guitar!

The XL can be a little trebly, but you can try flipping it over to emphasize the lows more and balance it out. Great pickups.

bill and becky all the way, killer pup imo
have an original 9 (from 82) in my steinberger right now and an xl in my V, both sound killer, but the original just has a bit "more" of what it is, even in a guitar that is less than half the meat of the other.

I dig the hell out of the stock model in my N4. Sounds great to me.

I've owned the XL from BLUSA and B&B.

I much prefer the B&B version. The glossy finish holds up better on the B&B, plus, I think the QC is tighter. IMO.

The B&B sounded better, but it can be very bright.
