What is the best Marshall to mod in your opinion Dave?
 
The best 72 or before good 78 to 80 jmp 100's or old jcm 800's or Slp reissues or 800 reissues. If you really want the best get a Marsha or a 72 or earlier. Anything else can be very good but not all the way. Dave
 
My '71 100 watt Super Tremolo with the KS is the best amp I have ever used for rock or metal in my 25 career. Take his advice get an old one or a Marsha, you won't be disappointed. This coming from a guy who's not only a tone junky but make my living playing guitar on records. I got a good deal on my '71 a few years ago, I think $1700, in excellent condition and then let Dave do it up.
 
Damn, I sent a '79 2203 for the KS plus. Should of sent a '72. But I'm bettin I won't know the difference. Every clip i've heard sounds great.
Dave do you put your own Master Volumes on the MV amps you mod? I hope so because they seem to be a big improvement.
 
Very good to know. I just realised it took me since June to finally send this amp. It's a good one though and about to be better. My kid(not a kid really) will love it. He won't use pedals cause "they don't sound right". I gotta agree they are fizzy and not near as tight, thick, massive, and clear as Dave's amps/mods.
