350 unloaded vs splawns 475 unloaded - thats a huge difference.

still 13 ply russian birch and they claim tight build-quality specifications - the rest done by hand in KY.

not a bad gig they have going on.

i would still like to know who/where they come from....they claim that have been doing this for a while with big name companies but started a new business?

There are a few people on Harmony Central Amp Forum with pre-run cabs that they really love. These include Splawn owners. I wouldn't mind getting one at all.

+1 I just moved from a pair of Splawn 2x12's to a pair of custom spec Lopo 2x12's and couldn't be happier. These are front loaded and I will now say that I will never use another rear loaded cab. Bigger and more defined low end, less mid emphasis, and better dispersion. The biggest difference I noticed is the suprisingly better tones at low volumes. My theory is that it takes more volume in rear loaded cabs to "push" sound out of the cab; therefore, at low volumes too much tone gets left inside. Whereas, I'm getting full frequency response at lower volumes with the front loaded cab............does that make sense ??? Regardless, Lopo makes killer cabs and have the best customer service you will find these days.

It is funny how someone can come along with the same "high quality" cab at half the price of its competitors. Same 18 mil/13 ply Russian birch. Something is different for sure. It may be some cost savings passed on because of the relatively few options in covering/grills that they stock. I did note the size of the cabs being about an inch smaller in depth/width and height. Wiring, jack plates, handles, and all costs money. It takes 4 yards of tolex for a cab. Even the cheapest of cheap is about 15 a yard. Labor costs are not cheap anymore for hand cut wood. Whether it is a guy in his wood shop cut boards all day or precut in large quantities from a supplier. Anyway, compared to the unloaded cab price of say Mills, Scum, Custom Audio, these are half the price. On par with Lopo, Mojo, Avatar, give or take a few dollars. So, something is different either in material or quality to offer them that cheap. Not sure how they do it. Somebody order one already and dissect it...

Met Doug at the amp show. He was talking about them. Worth a try. Don't think they are skimping. Labor in Ky might be cheaper than China. I've been to KY, .

Thread resurrection -- will have my WGS ET65 loaded WBE 2x12 within a couple of weeks--custom order with my options.

Many cab makers these days are going the cnc route which saves a lot of money.

Cabinets are grossly overpriced. Most are not worth anywhere near what they charge for them.

Cab has arrived. Two thumbs up and a big grin for me. The cab is extremely well-built and solid. Parallel inputs to the WGS ET65S on board and with every amp I've plugged into it so far it burns and cuts better than any I've heard. Paired with my Splawn 2x12 with Small Blocks and the Quick Rod it's dang near the perfect sound for me. I even plugged in a Marshall HAZE 40 and it sounded astounding and had tons of articulation. Price-to-value ratio on these Whitebox cabs is through the roof. Better than my Avatar Vintage.

What are the custom spec cabs? Are these the same as their sig cab?
