I reckon he probably spent a few months in the studio redoing the vocals, like the last dvd, he doesnt lip sync!

I really like the last two albums, so I´ll probably pick this up. The clip didn´t mention when it´s coming out, though.

The last live dvd was killer. Can't wait to check this one out too.

Joe Lynn Turner, other folks on here and my eye-ear coordination would have to disagree ;)
I saw them live less than 2 years ago...there was certainly no lip synching. Are you sure you don't mean overdubbing studio vocals for the "live" video? That he would have to do to put out a decent product...his voice was rough when I saw him.

Cool. I guess this is the next best thing to seeing them live... since Houston doesn't get passed through often.

I watched one video on youtube (mostly for some Aldrich stuff) and thought to myself "something's not right", then watched a second one and thought "obvious lip sync". I searched Google for "Coverdale+ lip sync" and found a crapload of results, including JLT accusing him of using live overdubs. I've read threads on rig-talk saying the same thing too. I find it weird that a guy with a shot voice (for what, at least 10 years?) suddenly starts singing like he used to 25 years ago.

I will most likely pick it up, but it is this cannot be the whole show can it?

When I last saw him ('11 M3), he definitely didn't sound like he used to. In fact, he spent half the show holding his mic out to the crowd. The band was great but Coverdale phoned it in.

I saw Whitesnake in 1990. His voice was already getting rough then....to the point that it was quite bad. Vai stole the night!

'he does have a singer, that he doesnt try to hide really he has named him, who helps with backup choruses etc.

Off the subject a bit - do you think Coverdale wears a wig nowadays? Looks maybe a bit TOO good haha. Great sounding DVD though, looks ace.

Saw them with Priest a few years ago. First of all, he was DEFNITELY singing. Had some rough patches but overall was good. Keep in mind also, like Dio in the late years, the band is probably a step to step and a half down tuned which helps.

NOONE releases the actual live recordings anymore! LOL! Everything is fixed and tidied up. Kind of a shame really.

I thought this was Rig Talk, not TMZ.

I guess you don't spend much time on YouTube, there are tons of sync problems on there....unrelated to the performance.

No clue if Coverdale is or not, but with the amount of smoke and mirrors in the music business I wouldn't doubt it. Even artists that can play have admitted to fixing so much stuff on "live" recordings that they can't stand to listen to it. Although anyone planning a live release can and do record every show, I guess nothing is ever good enough....even though I have been to lots of shows where I thought they nailed everything.

There live vid with Tommy Alridge is killer. I might give this one a look too, but apart from a few new songs will probably be quite similar.
