Who got rid of ground loop hum in a Peavey 5150 and how?

Anyone find any devices that actually eliminated ground loop hum and without sound degradation?

Hum is only present when my effects loop is engaged. A constant droning low volume hum in the backgroung that does not change in volume regardless of amp volume.

Isp decimator II noise gate doesn't help.

My other amps plugged into the same power point and with the same effects in the loop do not hum. It's only the damn Peavey that does this.

Very annoying.

I'd recommend this old method, no ground = no ground hum

What is in the loop when you get the hum? To check if it is the amp by itself, patch the loop send and return together with nothing else and then engage the loop. If you still get hum, then it is the amp. I can't remember if the loop on the Peaveys were tube buffered or not.

I've replaced the tube and the hum is still there.

I'll try patching the loop from send to return and report back.
