I just pulled the trigger on another Anderson Bulldog (Tom's version of the Les Paul) and I am looking at putting a set of PAF type pickups in it. I have been intrigued by these pickups and wanted to see if anyone has had some time with these pickups. I am mainly looking at playing rock and heavier type blues. Thanks!

Les Paul guys seem to love them. They were absolute ass in my basswood guitar!

I have a set in my PRS Custom 24. I think they sound great for rock through hard rock. The bridge pickup is a little under powered for metal. They balance well, and really sing on single note lead tones.

I also hear great things about the Thornbucker+ in the bridge position. If that were available when I bought mine, I probably would have gone in that direction.

Thanks guys! I won't be playing metal with this guitar. I twill strictly be for rock and hard rock. What is the Thornbucker+? Is it just a hotter version of the original?
