I just watched an original one go for 350$ on Ebay, and there is no way I am paying that.
What are some other options?

I've heard that the new custom shop "script" model is the same thing as the EVH model, but in the script mode?

I had a true bypass switch put in my MXR '74,...

Hey, what is it you like about the MXR '74 script phaser over the BYOC script phaser? I love this BYOC! It's very lush and subtle. Like I said, to me it almost sounds like a vibe.

The BYOC didn't handle the higher gain as well as I liked and yes, it was a but subltle, but a bit too much. I had mine pre-built by Axeandyoushallrecieve. I read somewhere by one of those EVH fanatics at Plexi Palace that the BYOC still isn't true spec to the originals. From what i understand, the MXR '74 was built identically to one of the originals, someone in the shop has one. I thought the BYOC was better than all the others I tried, Script 90 reissue, EVH, Retro-Sonic, but I just like this new one better and it looks cooler![]()

Are you sure you got the '74 Vintage? The regular reissue Script 90 comes with or without LED so you'll want to make sure.
I run a bunch of pedals and I dont' think any are true bypass. As long as my VHT V-1 is first there is no difference in tone. I tried without it once....it was NOT good!blackba":2i20l895 said:I have a Dunlop Phase 90 with a Cap and R28 mod. I also have a EVH phase 90, the bypass is better on the EVH phase 90. both sound pretty similar, I like the EVH a bit more. I do notice some tone suckage when off, but neither is bad. I have heard that if you use more than one MXR pedal in your chain you are asking for major tone suckage. Both the pedals I have would be a pain to mod and make true bypass as the switches are PCB mounted (as I remember).
