Hooked my boogie Studio Preamp with fresh IIc+ mod up to a cheap little 2x12 closed back cab with a couple of old Black Shadow (CL-90's I think) speakers, and it just worked. I'd been using my Marshall cab w/ Celestion/Egnater elite 80's, and while it sounded good, it was just slightly off. Really digging the boogie speakers now. Never really cared too much for them with my egnater/Marshall flavored rigs. I guess it's like Ozzy said once. It's like an old shoe. It fits.

Nice! I had a studio pre with a IIC+ mod at one time. I felt how you did. Sounded good, had potential, but meh. Awesome that it is working out for you with those C90s!

I love the Black Shadow speakers with my MarkIV. Sounds heaps better to me than V30s.
