Nice! Vertical input 2204's are the tits.
Yes...that was a steal imo. Enjoy your score, brother. It's got JJ's all around right now. I will probably look at swapping them out of the preamp at some point. I'm not sure who makes a good 6550 these days though.
It was 2k... not a steal but a good price IMO for a very clean stock well maintained 2204 with the matching 800 cab and a second Dean Markley cab (that the 65's were in initially). The Dean Markley has a Jensen C12K?, chinese V30, and two Dean Markley speakers in it now.
Agree—that’s a big win, esp here in the USYes...that was a steal imo. Enjoy your score, brother.
I'm satisfied with my JJ 6L6's and the 803s I run for the input tube of my Twin. I ran Gold Lion 12ax7's in the Plexi. I don't know what's available for 6550's either. I bought a set of GT6550R's and a few sets of GT6550C back in the 90's and ran them for 20 years, lol. Guess you'll have to shop around. Buy another set and that and what you already have will last you many years. You could also look into running a KT88. It looks like there are some options out there. Enjoy your new amp man, great score! It's got JJ's all around right now. I will probably look at swapping them out of the preamp at some point. I'm not sure who makes a good 6550 these days though.

Same here. Same cabinet. At times I think if I haven’t played something for awhile I don’t need it . Then I have regrets! My favorite ever Marshall cab was a 1980 with the G12-65s.
Never should've let that one go.

There aren’t many things cooler than a Les Paul Custom sitting in front of an old Marshall. ?
