So I bought an Edwards Flying V from Rakuten in Japan. I paid them on 2-10-14. They shipped it here in 3 days and it's been here, sitting in customs at O'hare airport since 2-14-14. WTF!!! How long does this usually take? Did you have to pay duties? If so, how much were they? I'm getting pretty pissed over here so any knowledge is greatly appreciated.

I bought a Edwards LP from Ishibashi Music back in 2010. Based on my emails they shipped on 3/21/10 and I received the guitar on 3/26/10. Not sure why your guitar is still sitting there. I think duties is supposed to be 5% of the declared value, I don't have record of how much I paid though.

Clearing customs is a complete crap shoot, I've had stuff clear in a day and stuff that's sat for a week or more.

Thanks guys. I inquired about this at the P.O. 2 weeks ago and they said the Olympics may be holding it up. I'm going in there tomorrow. Ya pay $140 for shipping, Japan gets it here in 3 days and then these jagoffs sit on it for 3 weeks. I WANT MY FUCKING GUITAR!!!!!!!

Yah that is really a pisser when that happens. One of my J Customs was sitting there for 1.5 weeks. I had some pickups that took 25 days from the US to arrive. Absolute Bs. It'll be getting there soon.

I have. I got it within a week. I payed about $100 in duties if I remember correctly.
