What kind are you using and what's your favorite speaker set ups in them? I need some ideas for my 100 watt head.

Used to rock the genz Benz. Pretty cool but I'm glad I made the switch to my Mesa 412. FWIW I never made a speaker change and I bet with the speakers switched to v30s it would be even better. It has 4 ports I believe, has a lot of low end, and would hold it's own against any cab IMO. Especially with a speaker change. Lots and lots of crunch in this cab too.

Yeppers! i run a Rivera Ported q212.....i got it for 250$, about 8 years ago, used and beat up...some TLC, and she's a dandy. it originally had those GHASTLY gt12m70's in it, and i HATED THEM together..they're SO BLAH!~!!!!!!. so, on a whim/hunch/shits-n-giggles what the hell type moment, i replaced those with 2 G12K-85's (out of a crappy crate amp that i found at a garage sale for 10 bux) and now it's the best sounding cabinet i own, hands down.

matter of fact, i really like those speakers and, for 10$, they were a gem of a find. i didn't even know what the crate speakers were, as there were stickers on the back of them that i just couldn't get off, but after i put them in there and tried them, i HAD to know what they were, so i checked the #'s on them..and low and behold, i had me a pair of 10$ g12k-85's!

Recto 2x12 w/ V30s.

Sonically it's really close to my Recto 4x12, so no big change when I switch cabs.

Just jammed my H&K switchblade into GFlex 212 (genz benz). it's ported and baffled and has 4 jacks in the back.

It was loud as shit with the channel volume = 3/10 and master = 3/10. 100 watt head. just wish the amp crunched more/better like a Marshall...

the gflex 212 has tight bass response and is a keeper for hardrock/metal applications. it's pretty sick for a 212 (sounds more like a 412 but lighter!)

not sure what spkrs it has stock but they're custom made I think for gbenz and they're 75 watts each. at one time I ran an el34 dual monobloc 100/100 into each side (don't try that @ home!)

i was using avatar 2x12's for a while, but recently ordered a whitebox 2x12 to try out... i have grown to really like the 2x12's mainly due to the ease of transportation

love my genz benz gflex 2x12...i do want to experiment with speakers sometime though

Hermida ported 2x12 with Vintage 30's.
Also Avatar Traditional with Eminence V12 and a GB12.
They both sound great with the JTM45 or Mesa Triple Rec.

I'm rolling with a Vintage 30 and Black Shadow 90 in my Mesa Royal Atlantic. It is a fricken great sounding combo. Much more balanced than having two Vintage 30s. The Black Shadow fills out the lower midrange frequencies nicely.

50+% of the gigs I've played have been with a Mesa 3/4 Back 2X12 with Black Shadow 90's.
I prefer it over A LOT of 2X12's that I own/owned (including a Recto 2X12).

Avatar Premier Vintage with one Hellatone 30 and one Hellatone 60.

Bogner OS 2x12 with V30's

Dual Avatar Contemporary 2x12's (in orange Tolex  ) for a stereo rack rig. Someone above mentioned portability - two Contemporary cabs take up quite a bit more space than my 4x12. Still love them, though... The cabs have a mix of V30's and CL80's and are mirrored so the speakers are in an "X" pattern when the cabs are stacked...

Egnater TM 2X12 with 65 watt M75LHDC's. I love that thing. Great removable casters, oversized, rear mounted, not hard to move around at all, and can be partial open back if wanted.

What I don't like, to get into the cab you have to remove a lot of screws. I would prefer it to have fewer larger screws than a ton of little ones.

I've got an Avatar 2x12 with G12H30's that sounds pretty good. I do want to swap em for Scumback M75's soon though. I need to able to push more wattage through it, and think I prefer the GB kind of tone.

I know that there has been a lot of bad stuff about them, but I have had an Earcandy buzbomb 212 for about seven years, and it is a great 212 (just sucks about Tim's customer service lately). Most of the time I have earcandy's green machine speakers in there, but I have some Scumback M75 LDHCs on their way to me. I have in the past also been very happy with Eminence wizards in there they are a really loud speaker!!!

I have the M75LHDC's and a regular 100 watt M75. The LHDC's have a touch more bottom and slightly less highs.
