Amp blending, so to speak.
What two amps and why?

I read how Adam Jones used a Recto for the lows and a Marshall for the highs and mids. Anyone have luck doing that?

Thinking of picking up a Radial Twin City ABY since I had some fun with one recently and giving it a go.

I do, through an RJM Rg-16. VHT Ultralead, for my main tone ,dry, cuts through anything, and just straight up brutal tone. I love the VHT voicing more than anything I've ever heard. Ran with a 5150 at the moment, for its brutal gain structure, much more wet, and again, I just love the voicing. Both amps blended together = armageddon. Both ran through 2 VHT 4x12 cabinets, one fatbottom 4x12, the other is a Deliverance 4x12.

20thA-XTC with Hagen
20thA-XTC with VH4
Any of the above with Mak4

2 at a time, through my Lehle.

It rips.

Would love to run a Mesa Roadster with a Mark V in stereo.

I've been running my Sig:X with a Mesa .50 Caliber + and recently switched the Mesa for a Mark III. It sounds awesome, the only complaint I have is phasing issues. To use all three channels on the Sig:X with the clean and lead channels from the Mark III don't always line up if using certain effects that change the phase.

Marshall SLP 100 with Wampler Pinnacle in front for overdrive/distortion.

Marshall DSL 50 Green channel set with just a bit of break up to add thickness.

Running the Custom Audio Amps
PT-100 & SE+ together, with Great results!
I use a Morley Lynch Tripler @ the moment,
Decent amp switcher with a Unity knob that
blends the amps, either a little or alot.
Next on the Hit list is a Lehle Amp switcher.

I am. Mesa/Boogie MarkIV and a Marshall JCM 800. I have to say that Adam Jones is a bit of an inspiration, in how the chemistry of two amps can create one sound.
I have struggled a lot in getting the right blend, but finally I think I have it worked out. The trick for me was the ratio. Most levels of dirt- 1:1 is fine, in fact I prefer the JCM 800 over the MarkIV.
But for dirty stuff (which I had the most trouble) I prefer more of the MarkIV, so came up with a 1:4 ratio. I managed that by using a stereo poweramp with the MarkIV to 'multiply' its outputs then throw a stereo chorus in there to twist the character a bit, and some different speaker wirings.

VHT UL into a Vader with a Diezel Herbert into either a Diezel FL K100 or Diezel RL with EVM12L's depending on how much low end I want. Huge chunkiness with plenty of clarity for low tunings on my 7 and 8 strings.

Another cool sound is running one clean/semi clean and the other with some grit. Add a little delay and it's just a beautiful thing.

I do sometimes. A stock VTM60 into a V30 4x12 and a modded VTM120 into a V30 4x12. Using a Radial passive ABY. It's cool because the 60 is looser and I run the gain lower for a crunchier sound and the 120 is much more aggressive and tighter. It sounds HUGE. Does it sound better than just running the modded 120 with both 4x12s? No. Just different.
