I need to get a 4x12 for some upcoming outdoor festivals. Avatar seems like the best option around, solid cabinet at a great price.

If you are using one of these vintage 4x12's, or have used one in the past, what was your experience and what speakers/amps did you pair it up with?

TIA!

I had one loaded with V30s/T75s for years that I used with a 5150 for mostly hardcore punk. I have no complaints, except that they used some cheap tolex. I eventually replaced it with a Mesa Rectifier cabinet since I was starting to play heavier music and tour more often, and the Avatar didn't match up to Mesa build quality.

The vintage is different than the contemporary avatar . The vintage is built by mojotone .

I thought he was talking about Avatar's "Vintage" line.

yep, avatar g412 Vintage $549 + shipping. Thinking about loading it with Hellatone60's, the broken in V30's.

I like mine, but then again, it hasn't been out of my basement. It's pretty solidly built though. WAY better than the other line of cabinets they have. I hated those.

I use an Avatar B410 Neo for my bass needs and that cab rocks. Avatar is a great company with great products and top notch customer service.

I don't gig but was very impressed with my 212 Traditional. Well built and Dave at Avatar is great to work with. Very good customer service and they shipped fast. I had a G12H30 and a Classic Lead 80. That was a great combination but I would have loved to have tried the Hellatones as well. I ended up selling mine to olds442 here to fund my Splawn cab. I have a Splawn QR. If you like the flexibility of an open or closed back cab - then maybe take a look at their convertible options.

They may not be as well built as the Mesas - not sure. I do have a 'gut' shot though if you are interested.
