Would like some insight on how you guys that are using the Fryette power station 2 as a dedicated power amp for your preamp like it. I've got a Bogner Fish that I've been mainly running through my amps power sections when I want to use it the past couple of years. I've paired the Fish with a Fryette 292, VHT 2150, VHT 2100 classic, mesa 2:90 with the fryette 292 being my favorite.

At this point I'm mostly inclined to grab a new 292 and wouldnt object to a power station if its going to provide a robust low end similar to the 292. I know the PS2 is loaded with 6L6s which I know will sound good also.

I'm a hard rock/metal player who uses to much gain most of the time if this helps. Application is home use. Thanks for providing your experience with the PS2 unit in advance.

Hey man. I use a PS-2 with a GP/DI and a Helix in 4CM, with an R112 cabinet. Yeah, I'm a Fryette fanboi, and I backed the GP/DI Kickstarter :).

I used to own a 2/90/2 though I rarely used it because it was impractically loud and heavy.

The PS-2 is a great power amp. Lots of headroom for a 50W amp, and the tonal shaping capabilities are pretty powerful.

I use it at home, so I very rarely get to crank it up. The cab itself doesn't have an extended low end, and I haven't had a chance to try the PS-2 through one of my bigger cabs which are all at my practice space.

Anyways, I have no regrets with it. It's been a boon for playing at home--sounds way better than using my GP/DI alone into a cabinet.

I can’t compare it to the others you listed because I never tried them. When I use the PS2, it sounds full and hits hard. I use it between the 4 amps in my sig and either a Bogner 4x12 or Diezel FL 4x12. But mostly I use it as a reactive load into my AxeFx III and monitors when I’m not using a Suhr Reactive Load the same way.

I think it’s an awesome tool and if you like Fryette, you should try one out. So many useful configurations that all sound great.

The Power Station doesn't compare to the full size Fryette power amps. It sounds thin, unmusical and small compared to the 2/50/2.

I believe this was the PS-1 so I don't know if something was changed with the second version.
