Sprinkle the MAGICAL GRIFFIN dust on it.....you will be all set then.
Silly postal employee there is no magical griffin dust... Its magical griffin goo!
But there is where the 'secret' comes in....
let the GOO harden...then grind it into dust.
All the top guys know that trick.
I am convinced you have or had a drug problem at some point.

Nah........Never touch the stuff...
just like to mess with Vrad.....
Sure, sure...that's what you say now...
:D

For years I was a straight into the amp kinda guy. Maybe a wah pedal or my phase 100 I used to have, but that was it. Now I have several pedals that are a core part of my sound. Gotta have my BB+, Eternity, Carbon Copy, DL4 and lately the Russian Muff is tickling my fancy.

Hardest part is figuring out what order to put them in and keep it that way! I finally got it to a 'set and forget' chain, I hope.

Fuzz, compressor, wah, boosts, phase 90, Muff, BB+, Eternity, OCD, Metal Zone, volume pedal, delays.

I have like 4 pedals.
Dunlop Wah
BF2
SD-1 for the Budda SD80
OD808 for everything else.

I know what order they go in, but when they're all connected, everything sounds like poo... I think I need like some kind of loop or something.

Steve K just listed a looper that goes on your pedal board and like half priced.

If you take the word "pedal" and translate it to European french slang, it will further strengthen the words in my sig.

That's why I only use one or two pedals. A TIM and a phase 90. :D

Yeah but even then I bet there's the constant struggle - modulation pre or post gain?

I like the concept of a neat pedal board... but in practice... doesn't work for me for the same reasons.

Phaser pre for me. I hate phasers after gain. You lose your whole foundation of your sound and it turns into a swirly mess. Nice and subtle when used in front of gain.

i have the same problem!
Can't keep a pedalboard together for more than a few months, then I start ripping it apart, changing things.

I think the reason for me is...on gigs I really don't use anything other than a boost and a delay...and after using my big pedalboard on gigs with a bunch of effects that I almost never use, I start wondering why am I hauling around this big pedalboard....I could make a really small board with just what I use. Then a few months later I see all my nice effect pedals not in use and start building a big pedalboard again thinking I'll use them this time...etc...etc...

EXACTLY!! I basically use either the SD-1 or the OD808 and my Roland SDE1000 in the loop for delay. That's it.

I use the BF2 occasionally. I use the wah barely every, but it's a great-sounding wah and every guitar player needs a wah right?

Here's my board now...I can't remember the last time I stepped on the Budda wah pedal...but it sounds great if I ever do!
The Nova System is in the amp's effect loop and I'm only using it for delay and solo level boosting...kinda of a waste to have this thing that does so much...do so little.
I could easily get by with a tiny board with an OCD out front of the amp and in the loop my Carbon Copy delay and MXR EQ pedal for solo level boosting....so uncomplicated...so done. :D

HAHAHHAAH!!
We're like fucking guitar twins dude... I do the same shit. Hey this pedal sounds awesome! Let me not use it... EVER!

Yup same thing. I can use a boost and a delay in the loop. Or a delay in front for the SL. That's it.

I have a patch with chorus and a patch with reverb programmed in the Nova System, but I just always find I like playing dry. I should just give up on liking processed tones and stay dry.

Nice thread! Now I'm gonna rip my pedalboard apart today...THANKS!

I'll keep the wah at home and not sell it as I may one day write a song that needs it...but for live, I could always just walk up to the mic and go "waaaaoooowaaaooooo" if it's really needed in a cover song.

We occasionally play Metallica's Enter Sandman and No More Tears by Ozzy at rough bars that are full of sweaty men.
Mouth wah baby...sounds better than the original!
