Somebody please tell me

The 80s > the 90s. Other than extreme metal fuck all of note came out in the 90s.

LOL.......AiC came out in the 90s. Cowboys from Hell came out in the 90s.

True, women were easier and there weren't so many communicable diseases in the 80s......coke was way cheaper.

There were no Diezels.

Be happy, man.....you got cool gear and good friends and there's great music from EVERY era.

Pantera are terrible but I'm with you with AiC \m/ !

I know :) I just saw Drive and love its 80s vibe. I was only very young but remember the end of the 80s vividly...just got me feeling nostalgic.

meh. i was in full hormonal bloom in the mid 80s and it wasnt that great. Its always greener...... you are probably just nostalgic because you are about to rock an amp that starts with TWENTIETH!

I enjoyed being born in 1990 and being raised in the 90's. The 90's were the best decade to be a kid. But now that thats all over with, if i could have spent my teenage years, hell my now years, in the 80's i'd be complete.

I didn't hit my teenage years until the 90's started, and I'm glad. I got to enjoy the 80's but not during that awkward stage where you are trying to figure out who you are. I got to avoid having any kind of tiger-striped spandex phase. The worst I had was some corduroy and army surplus clothing... far less embarassing. :D

I was old enough to thoroughly enjoy Skid Row and Motley Crue, but young enough to never really get into Def Leppard. Thank God! ;)

I'd love to say "it wasn't that great".....but it was. :)

I started high school in 84' and graduated in 88'. The L.A. metal scene started picking up steam in 83', some of the best albums came out in 86', and I was out of school before the "after" bands came out (Firehouse, Warrant, etc.)

It was great sitting in my room playing an Aria Pro II "The Cat", learning "Fade to Black". :)

I hit college in 1990. I will never get the 80's hair metal and 90's grunge out of my system. It's just a part of me and I am not ashamed to admit it.

I was a kid in the 80's and a teenager in the 90's. I miss the 90's dearly. The first half had some of the best music I ever came across.

BOOM!! My story, just change geography to Toronto. I loved my youth (aka "yoot"). Drugs were plentiful, parties were great, and music was all... Having grown up with an older peer group, I was listening and grooving to everything from Gabriel-era Genesis, Floyd, ELO, Zeppelin, Iron Butterfly and Hendrix...all the way to the funk and punk that was happening, AND the metal of the Scorps, Queensryche, Ozzy, Judas Priest, and more.

It was a zany time. Don't regret one New York second of it.

Mojo

I'm guessing probably because you weren't born between 1961/1976. :)

I turned 13 in '87. I heard the album in my avatar....still in my #1 cd slot in my truck to this day....I wasn't old enough to truly get into the 80's party scene....that could be a good thing i guess

I was a kid in the 90s and loved it. Music was kinda meh but everything else-good stuff. Glad I grew up when I did.

Damn, I didn't know I was that old. Got my drivers license in 80. Bought beer two years later @18yrs old, Texas changed it to 21 on my birfday. :D
Seen many Killer bands playing at shit holes in Houston in the 80's. Arena shows were cheap!
I think Poison  and a Flock of Seagulls are en route to you spirit7

i loved those times, i was born in 67 so i got to experience every thing from doors ,hedrix and zep. to the coolest time in music..the girls were insane (and HOT )  .there were rock clubs everywhere  damn i miss those time

I was out of high school in 81, and was lucky to have survived the 80's. We would see great shows every weekend. Priest, Maiden, Dokken, Queensryche, Gary Moore, Yngwie, Dio, Accept and all of countless others in their prime
Great times.... Great music

I entered high school in 1981 and exited college in early 1990. So, all of my formative years were spent during the '80s. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Although the first half of the '90s were pretty damn great as well. I moved to Chicago (the same week Nevermind and Blood Sugar Sex Magik came out) and played in an active original band in town. After grunge exploded and Smashing Pumpkins hit, all the bands on our circuit thought we were gonna be rock stars, and we acted accordingly. Great time to be a part of the Windy City scene.

The 80s weren't all they are cracked up to be.

Example - internet porn did not yet exist.

You didn't NEED internet porn in the 80's. It was all right in front of you.

On stacks and stacks of Betamax video tapes, yes it was. Ah, the good old days. :)
